Loftus Lane Brass Window Boxes – Architectural Feature

Loftus Lane is a key feature of the Quay Quarter Sydney precinct, a transformative redevelopment of Circular Quay into a vibrant gateway to the city. The project includes five buildings that blend heritage restoration with contemporary architecture, creating a dynamic mix of public spaces, retail, offices, and residences. This ambitious project reimagines the precinct as a destination where Sydney’s rich history meets modern urban life.
A standout element of the development is the 30 custom-fabricated patina brass window surrounds. These unique architectural features enhance the facades of the buildings, bridging the historical character of the precinct with the sleek, modern design of the new structures. Crafted with precision and care, the aged brass finish adds warmth and depth, creating a sophisticated connection between the old and the new while enriching the aesthetic of the public realm.

Our studio provided end-to-end services to ensure the seamless realisation of the window surrounds. Beginning with detailed design and prototyping, we meticulously worked through engineering and documentation to finalise every element of the project.

Close collaboration with the project teams allowed us to refine fabrication methods to achieve the desired aged brass finish, ensuring each surround met the exacting design intent. From site management to installation, we oversaw the integration of the window surrounds into the buildings, maintaining precision and consistency at every step.

The result is a cohesive, high-quality addition to the development that reflects both the heritage significance and contemporary aspirations of Loftus Lane, showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines our work.
