Elevating the lobby experience.

Indi is the new BTR offering by  Investa and Oxford Properties and 298 Pitt St, their first property in Sydney, was designed by Bates Smart.

Investa engaged Vicki Lee to create a set of stunning sculptural petal  artworks to enhance the lobby. Vicki Lee is a visual artost whose work focuses on movement, and multi-sensory expereinces. She harnesses the power of space beyond the physical; an experience unveiled st scale leaving the viewere in awe of the passion and the intent of the artist. These large suspended artworks are no exception and have been fabricated and finished in a golden powder coat. 8th Wonder collaborated with the project team and delivered prototypes, fabrication and installation.

Vicki Lee

Vicki Lee is a visual artist whose work focuses on movement, and multisensory experiences for the audience. She harnesses the power of place beyond the physical; an experience unveiled at scale, leaving the viewer in awe of the passion and the intent of the artist.

Her work ranges from the intimate to the public, and has been commissioned for large-scale installations, hoardings and events, spanning video, photography, painting, and even scent. She is not bound by formats or material, instead discovering the best way to resolve an idea always lead by the idea itself.

Petal Design and Orientation

"The curve idea represents resonance, a sine curve, the frequency of nature. I want people to be inside the sculpture and to feel alive, ignited, powerful. It’s important to me that the audience can walk within the elements, feel enclosed by them.

To get the right moment with the curve of both the rose petal and the more abstract metal curve, I threw hundreds of rose petals, feathers, plastic sheets in the air and observed how they fell and the natural forms they took on.

I’ve kept in line with the project architect’s curve, studying Luigi Rosselli’s renders and aiming to continue the line through the sculpture, and hopefully retain that energy all through the apartment suites also."
