Redefining an Airport Hotel

8th Wonder partnered with 8Hotels to design, manufacture, and deliver the signage and architectural features for the Felix Hotel — a boutique destination inspired by the golden age of air travel.

Working closely with the interior design firm, 8th Wonder developed a suite of playful yet meticulously detailed signage that captures the optimism and vibrancy of 1960s hotelier culture. The collection includes retro neon installations, room identifiers modelled on vintage split-flap airport displays, 1970s-era scrolling message panels, and an elegant trivision feature interpreting Ned Kelly through a lens of modern art.

Crafted from hand-formed glass tubing, polished aluminium, brass, and illuminated acrylic, each piece celebrates the intersection of nostalgia and contemporary craft. The result is an environment that feels both cinematic and welcoming, a sequence of illuminated moments that elevate the guest journey from arrival to departure, blending material authenticity, wit, and warmth into a truly memorable experience.
